Can LoanMax report me to credit bureaus for non-payment?

Back

Yes - but there is a catch.

Title lenders like LoanMax may or may not report to the three major credit bureaus (Experian, TransUnion, Equifax). Here is what you need to know:

The Problem:

Many title lenders do NOT report on-time payments. This means you get all the risk (credit damage if you fail) but none of the reward (credit improvement if you succeed).

Your Rights:

  • You have the right to dispute any inaccurate negative mark with the credit bureau
  • If LoanMax obtains a judgment against you, that judgment is public record and you can verify its accuracy in court
  • If LoanMax illegally repossesses your car, you can sue and have the repossession removed from your credit report
