They will try if you gave them permission. The Law: Contacting your references to "locate" you is borderline legal. Contacting your boss to "shame" you is illegal harassment.

• How to Stop It: Revoke contacts access (see Q4). Even if they have the numbers, you can issue a legal notice.
• How to Avoid It: Use a separate "Sim 2" or a virtual number for loan applications. Do not give loan apps your primary family contact number.
• Damage Control: Save screenshots of their threats to contact your workplace. These screenshots are gold in court for a harassment case. Do not delete them.
