How can I remove permissions from a loan app?

Back

Go to your phone's settings, find the app, and revoke permissions. Then uninstall the app.

Even after you have installed an app, you can remove its permissions. This is critical for loan apps that you may have mistakenly granted access to your contacts or photos.

The Critical Warning: Revoking permissions and uninstalling the app prevents future access. However, if the app already copied your contacts and photos to its servers during the time you had it installed, uninstalling does not delete that data .

This is why you should never grant permissions in the first place. Once data is copied, it can never be retrieved.

Step-by-Step Instructions for Android

Step 1: Open your phone Settings

Step 2: Tap "Apps" or "Apps & Notifications"

Step 3: Find the loan app in the list

Step 4: Tap "Permissions"

Step 5: For each permission (Contacts, Photos, Storage, Location), tap and select "Deny"

Step 6: Go back to the app info screen and tap "Uninstall"

Step 7: Restart your phone to ensure all processes are cleared

Step-by-Step Instructions for iPhone (iOS)

Step 1: Open Settings

Step 2: Scroll down to the loan app in the app list

Step 3: Tap the app

Step 4: Toggle OFF each permission (Contacts, Photos, etc.)

Step 5: Go to Home Screen, press and hold the app icon, tap "Remove App" then "Delete App"

Step 6: Restart your phone

What If I Already Uninstalled Without Removing Permissions?

If you uninstalled the app without revoking permissions, the app is no longer on your phone. It cannot access new data. However, any data it already copied remains on their servers. Unfortunately, there is no way to retrieve it.

Step-by-Step Protection Guide for the Future

Step 1: Never grant permissions during installation. Deny all permissions initially.

Step 2: If the app will not function without permissions, uninstall it immediately. This is a sign of a predatory app.

Step 3: Check app permissions regularly. Go through your installed apps and revoke permissions for any you do not fully trust.

Step 4: Use the "Install from unknown sources" setting carefully. Never enable this for loan apps.
