RIDICULOUS INTEREST RATE, HIDDEN CHARGES AND HARRASMENT BY PALMPAY AND FLEXI (PALMPAY FLEXI CASH)I am a small business owner who has been using Palmpay work loans to support my business. The usual interest rate has been ₦5 per day for every ₦1,000 borrowed. For example, borrowing ₦500,000 attracts a daily interest of ₦2,500. I have been using this loan service for over a year without any issues.
However, in November 2024, I accessed a loan of ₦500,000 and discovered that the daily interest rate had suddenly increased from ₦2,500 to ₦15,600. Shocked by this, I immediately reached out to Palmpay, asking them to retrieve their loan since I could not afford such an outrageous rate. They refused.
The loan was for five days, which meant I was expected to pay ₦78,000 in interest within that short period—something my business could not handle. After the due date, Palmpay started threatening me. Despite numerous attempts to negotiate and pay back the principal amount of the loan, they refused to cooperate and continued adding ₦15,600 daily to the balance.
I later discovered that the loan was being handled by Flexi. While they have tried to intimidate me by claiming they will report me to the CBN, I had already reported them myself when I discovered the unreasonable interest rate.
I strongly advise staying away from Palmpay and Flexi. Their practices are unfair and predatory, and they operate like criminals.

They started sending me threats on the very day it was due, this is months after constantly paying back and borrowing regardless of their high interest rate. I always pay back. But due to bank issues I was unable to pay completely, but I paid a larger chunk out of it from my other bank that had some money. I was so scared. I need to get out of this cycle.
