Your LendYou Checklist

Back

Before you use LendYou or any loan matching service, go through this checklist:

Before You Apply:

  • Have I checked if LendYou has a physical address? [ ] YES / NO
  • Do I know who the parent company (Zero Parallel, LLC) is? [ ] YES / NO
  • Have I asked for a list of lending partners? [ ] YES / NO
  • Do I understand that LendYou is a middleman, not a lender? [ ] YES / NO

Data Protection Checklist:

  • Have I checked what permissions LendYou has on my phone? [ ] YES / NO
  • Have I revoked contacts, photos, and location access? [ ] YES / NO
  • If the app required those permissions, did I delete it? [ ] YES / NO

Before Accepting a Loan Offer:

  • Have I researched the specific lender offering the loan? [ ] YES / NO
  • Have I asked about credit reporting policies? [ ] YES / NO
  • Have I calculated the APR including all fees? [ ] YES / NO
  • Have I read the entire loan agreement? [ ] YES / NO
  • Do I understand what happens if I am late? [ ] YES / NO

Red Flags That Mean STAY AWAY:

  • The app asks for contacts or photos access
  • No physical address is provided
  • The parent company information is hidden
  • They cannot name their lending partners
  • Payday loan terms with interest over 100% APR
  • No clear information about credit reporting

Better Alternatives to Consider First:

  • Credit union loans (much lower interest)
  • Employer salary advance (often 0% interest)
  • Family or friends (relationship risk, but 0% interest)
  • Selling unused items (one-time pain vs. long-term debt)
  • Payment plans with existing creditors

Your rights as a borrower will always protect you more than any app's promises. Know your rights. Protect your data. And never give a loan app access to your contacts.
