How I Learned to Handle Loan Sharks

How I Learned to Handle Loan Sharks

I used to think I would never miss a loan payment. I borrowed 200k from Palmcredit and 150k from Easimonie, and I always paid them back on time. Sometimes, I was a little late, but never more than two days.

I used to think I would never miss a loan payment. I borrowed 200k from Palmcredit and 150k from Easimonie, and I always paid them back on time. Sometimes, I was a little late, but never more than two days.

In February and March, I spent 400k each month just to pay back loans. I didn't worry about other loan apps until I realized I couldn't pay back a loan I took in April. My brother was sick, and I couldn't meet the May 11th deadline.

That's when I got into trouble with 7-day loan sharks. They kept calling, texting, WhatsApping, emailing, threatening, cursing, and even begging.

It's been 27 days since I stopped paying back over 30 loan apps. I deleted their apps and upgraded my Truecaller to block their calls. Now, I just sit back and watch their calls get blocked. When they message me on WhatsApp, I read some and laugh. I sometimes reply nicely to those who are polite because I plan to pay them back if they don't ruin my reputation.

I block the rude ones and move on with my life. The only thing these loan agents can do is try to scare you. They think you don't want your friends and family to know about your loans. Don't let them scare you. Show them you don't care, and you will feel free.

Right now, I'm not stressed about how to use all my money to pay off loans in May. I plan to share 50k among them. Any of them who gets 5k should be thankful. Next month, I'll do the same. Little by little, I'll handle it.
